Now I know what you’re thinking: more Montreal bias from Mark. But this isn’t coming from me — it’s science. Well, sort of. Actually not at all.
A joint analysis by the Toronto Sun and beautifulpeople.com — pillars of the research community that they are — has finally produced incontrovertible evidence of what we Montrealers have known for bloody ever. Far be it from me to point out that our denizens are apparently more than twice as good looking as those homely bucktoothed Torontonians. But they are.
The Sun “reports“:
According to people at beautifulpeople.com, […] Montreal, followed by Calgary, are national treasures.
“We certainly found the people in Montreal and Calgary to be stunning,” said managing director Greg Hodge from his Los Angeles office.
“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but when you apply to BeautifulPeople, you’re literally being beholden by thousands of people,” he said.
Members rate opposite-sex applicants. In Montreal, 44% of applicants were able to clear the red velvet rope, while Calgary allowed 39% and Quebec City 30%.
Years ago, after a good lot of gin tonics, a former roommate of mine told me that the best-looking guys in the country were in her hometown of Calgary, while the most beautiful women were in Montreal. Now, as then, that suits me just fine.
Thanks, Chris!

Well it’s not that we -Montreal women- didn’t know that before, but now we have in writing, so yeah!
