The quote of the day comes from Republican National Committee chairman Mike Duncan, who’s leading the GOP’s charge into social media:
“We have to do it in the Facebook, with the Twittering, the different technology that young people are using today.”
Is it just me, or does the phrase “do it in the Facebook” sound just ever so slightly obscene?
Duncan’s comment came in a very silly debate among the candidates to take over the RNC’s chairmanship. Here’s an excerpt, from CBS News:
“Let me just say that I have 4,000 friends on Facebook,” contributed [former Ohio Secretary of State Ken] Blackwell, putting his hand on [South Carolina GOP Chair Katon] Dawson’s and [Michigan GOP Chair Saul] Anuzis’s knees. “That’s probably more than these two guys put together, but who’s counting, you know?” Acknowledged [former Tennessee GOP Chair Chip] Saltsman: “I’m not sure all of us combined Twitter as much as Saul.”
Anuzis claimed he had “somewhere between 2- and 3,000″ Facebook friends, which prompted Blackwell to remind the audience that he has 4,000 friends on the social networking site by waving four fingers behind Anuzis’s head.
The candidates were significantly more comfortable when asked how many guns they own. Duncan claimed four handguns and two rifles, Anuzis boasted of two, and Blackwell replied: “Seven — and I’m good.”
“In my closet at home,” replied Saltsman, “I’ve got two 12-gauges, a 20-gauge, three handguns and a .30-06. And I’ll take you on anytime, Ken.”
Also, Blackwell’s dad can beat up your dad, who is in fact a poopyhead.
Congratulations America, on voting Democrat.

“And I’ll take you on anytime, Ken.”
Does this mean that the GOP (What a stupid name.) is going after the young vote by adopting a reality TV approach? The losers in the race get shot?

It could be just like Monty Python’s “Twit Olympics” sketch!
