Just heard a CBC Radio interview with Calendar Girl, a Londoner who in October 2006 decided to write one song a month for a year, sending them into the internet ether to be remixed by the masses. Musicians from around the world have sent her 280 takes on the songs so far, ranging from downtempo to bluesy, from bubblegum rock to spoken word. All songs are free to enjoy and distribute under Creative Commons, and the winning tracks will be released as an album, with the remixers earning songwriting credit.
