Four Canadian college students from Concordia, McGill and UVic are travelling around North America in a bus donated by Levi’s, making their dreams come true. Two years and many, many road trips into their plan, they’re about halfway down their hundred-item list. Among the checked-off items: holding public office, visiting the Fulsom Prison that Johnny Cash made famous, kicking off the six o’clock news and riding a dune buggy through the desert. They’ve also made the front page of a magazine (above), kissed the Stanley Cup and the “most beautiful girl you’ve ever seen.”
What’s more, for every item they cross off, the crew helps a complete stranger complete one of his/her own goals. Truth be told, the front-page Gazette article on them a few days ago was just the kick in the ass that I needed to finally make this blog a reality, after years of wanting to. Thanks for that, guys!
The Buried Life is four regular guys on a mission to complete a list of “100 Things to do Before You Die” and to help and to encourage others to go after their own lists.
Relying on goodwill, guts and sheer determination Duncan, Ben, Dave and Jonnie travel the globe in a retro purple transit bus named Penelope and ask everyone they meet: ‘What do you want to do before you die?’ For every item they complete on their list, they help a stranger achieve one of their dreams.
A documentary on the project is set to release in 2008. The brand-new Buried Life Social Network gives you a place to share your life-list, your pics and videos and tell the world what you want to do before you die. It’s step #1 to getting them done.
